DESCRIPTION:This is the first evening meeting of the Augustinian year and is the Barbara Walker memorial event. \nThe Rudston Constable’s account book is a recent find which covers the early and mid Victorian period.  The entries open a window on what life was like at that time and gives a glimpse into the complicated task of a Village Constable. \nBro John Walker will tell the story. He is an Honorary Member of the Augustinians\, has been Prior twice and is the current Sub Prior. He is not sure when he first joined the society as a novice but it was about 60 years ago. For many years Bro John helped to run the Bayle Museum when it was a joint enterprise between the Augustinians and the Lords Feoffees. He is a regular speaker at the Augustinians. \nThis event is for members & their guests only.
