SUMMARY:A House Renewed: The Restoration and Refurbishment of Sewerby Hall.
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:  Our speaker Robert Chester MA is the Education Officer at Sewerby Hall. He has a long background of working in Museums\, Archaeology and Education. As Education Officer at Sewerby Hall his role is quite varied and wide ranging from taking on the persona of the Butler to organising the logistics of school visits from running craft sessions to detailed research into the wider Edwardian period. A particular interest is in the role of soldier servants during the First World War. \nTopic:  A House Renewed: The Restoration and Refurbishment of Sewerby Hall. \nIn 2013 – 2014 Sewerby Hall underwent a major restoration to return it to its appearance as a country house in 1910. This talk will look at  the background to the house as a home\, the ups and downs of the restoration and how the House has developed as an attraction and museum in the years since. \nThis talk is for members and their invited guests only.
